This post has the ultimate newlywed gift guide!
The holidays are coming up, which means gift-giving is in the air!
If you have some newlywed friends or family members in your life, you might be unsure of what to get them. Newlyweds are in that weird stage of life where they don’t have a big house or many kids, so finding gifts for them can be challenging!
If you are a newlywed yourself, consider adding these items to your wedding registry or giving them to your new spouse!
This post will give you the ultimate newlywed gift guide.
Newlywed Gifts
Newlywed Gifts for Memory Making:
Newlyweds are in that fun stage of life where everything is new! They are busy making memories at their first apartment, with their first car, and on their first anniversary. Give them the gift of memory making with these ideas!
1) Photo album/frame
Newlyweds probably have a bunch of pictures to document their blossoming love story. Let them display these memories either in a photo album or with a cute picture frame!
2) Gift cards/coupons
Newlyweds probably don’t have that much money right now. You can easily gift them a super fun date night with a gift card to a local restaurant or a coupon for a nearby attraction (think pottery making, escape room, theme park, etc.)
Another idea is to gift newlyweds with a practical gift card so they can buy some of the things they need but don’t have money for. You can get gift cards from gas stations, groceries stores, clothing outlets, and home improvement stores. A newlywed might really appreciate you thoughtfully giving them the gift of these everyday essentials!
3) Date night box
You can also gift a newlywed a date night by gathering your favorite date in a box! For a movie night, fill a popcorn bucket with popcorn, m&ms, and a redbox coupon. For a crafty night, fill a basket with paint, brushes, and a canvas. Get creative by remembering YOUR favorite dates and building a date box out of it!
4) Cozy night in socks, blankets, cocoa mugs
The cold weather coming up calls for cozy night ins, which might make the perfect gift for your newlyweds! Consider giving your newlywed friends and family members blankets, fuzzy socks, cocoa mugs, marshmallows, etc.
5) Outdoors equipment
For your adventurous newlyweds, try gifting some outdoorsy equipment! You might give them a tent, sleeping bags, or camping chairs. Or, try keeping it simple and gift a hammock, roasting sticks, or a sled. You can get crazy and gift climbing gear, roller blades, or a pickleball set.

Newlywed Gifts for Practicality:
Practical gifts are a little less fun, I know, but I honestly LOVE getting practical gifts. I feel so touched when somebody thoughtfully gives a gift full of stuff I actually really need!
6) Cooking for 2 cookbook
Your newlywed friends would LOVE a cooking for 2 cookbook. It can be downright hard to find recipes that aren’t intended to feed a family of 4, 6, or 10! Help your newlyweds save food and money with this incredibly thoughtful gift. My favorite cooking for 2 cookbook can be found on Amazon, linked here.
7) Organizing bins/baskets
Throwing two people’s lives together in marriage can get messy and cluttered pretty quick! You might help your newlywed friends organize their new lives together with some cute and practical organizing bins or baskets. Newlyweds might especially enjoy drawer organizers, baskets for blankets, or pantry bins.
8) A new lamp
As the colder weather comes along, darker days come too! Light up your newlyweds’ dreary apartment with a nice new lamp. Standing lamps might be the best option for newlyweds who don’t have a lot of extra table/counter space to spare!
My favorite floor lamp from Amazon is linked here.
9) Hand warmers
Speaking of cold weather, one of the most thoughtful holiday gifts to give is handwarmers! This sweet and simple gift will keep your newlyweds warm as they make memories in the snow and travel to visit you!
Newlywed Gifts for Christmas:
Don’t forget that newlyweds are just barely starting their collection of Christmas goods. You might want to add to their beginner’s collection with a Christmas-specific gift!
10) Christmas tree
Does your newlywed couple have a Christmas tree? Maybe not! Christmas tress are really big and expensive, and a lot of newlyweds don’t get one right away. Before you buy a full-blown Christmas tree, you might want to look at the mini Christmas tree options. A newlywed couple in a little apartment space might like a mini tree the best. Either way, I’m certain they’ll enjoy this iconic Christmas piece!
11) Christmas ornaments
If your family is like mine, you got a few new Christmas ornaments every year for the tree. Since newlyweds are just beginning their new family, they probably don’t have many ornaments yet! You can make their tree look a little less bare with some holiday ornaments.
12) Christmas cookie cutters
One of my favorite Christmas traditions is making sugar cookies! By giving your newlywed couple some Christmas cookie cutters, you are giving them a tradition to start as well as a date night to have! Plus, they might just bring you some cookies to say thanks!
13) Christmas stockings
Stockings are another one of those iconic Christmas pieces that newlyweds might not have yet. Before buying, make sure to consider or ask about the couples’ color preference so that they can keep these stockings for years to come!
14) Christmas decor
It is so fun to get your house into the Christmas spirit with some beautiful holiday decor! Chances are that newlyweds don’t have a lot of that yet! Consider getting the couple some Christmas throw pillows, nativities, advent calendars, or centerpieces.
15) Christmas wreath
Finally, don’t forget the Christmas wreath! Although newlyweds might not have a big house to put up lights and yard decorations, they will definitely have a front door! You can add to their holiday season with a beautiful wreath to welcome them home. You might thoughtfully add a door hanger to your gift as well.
