The BEST Fall Activities for Teens and Adults

This post is all about fall activities for teens and adults.

Fall is such a fun season – from corn mazes and hayrides to Thanksgiving and Halloween, there’s a lot to do!

While of course the fall season is loaded with fun activities for kids, there’s a lot for teens and adults to enjoy as well!

Grab your roommates, friends, significant other, or coworkers and enjoy this fall season!

This post includes the best fall activities for teens and adults!

Fall Activities for Teens and Adults

1) Play Spikeball

Spikeball is one of those games that is absolutely perfect for teens and adults.

If you’ve never played, here’s what you need to know:

  • you need 4+ players
  • you can easily switch out people in a matter of minutes, so even if there are 5 people there, you’ll get plenty of playing time
  • easy to set up competition brackets
  • easy to transport
  • all you need is the set and some flat ground to play!

If you’d like a link to a Spikeball set, there are sold on Amazon here.

2) Go on a hike

The fall season is the PERFECT time to hike. The weather isn’t too hot or too cold. The leaves change color. You can hike for as long or as little as you’d like.

Plus, there is no limit to how many people can come! Invite all your friends and enjoy a beautiful fall hike.

3) Watch a football game

Tis the season of football!

If you’re in college or near a campus, you might gather a group of friends to go to a game!

Otherwise, consider hosting a football watching party! Invite all of your friends over to watch the big game.

All you need is the channel, some football gear, and of course some BOMB snacks.

My favorite football-game-watching snacks include:

  • nachos
  • pizza
  • chips and salsa
  • pigs in a blanket
  • fruit dip (+ fruit)
  • cookies
  • crepes
  • chips
  • peanut butter m&ms – yum!

4) Have a fall picnic

While you’re on that hike, you might want to also have a picnic!

Grab a blanket, pack some food, and have your friends meet at a nearby park for a delicious fall picnic.

The weather is wonderful and the food is good – fall is the perfect season for picnics!

5) Enjoy a campfire + s’mores

Campfires are also perfect for this delicious fall weather.

You’ll need:

  • wood
  • lighter
  • newspaper
  • fire pit (if you don’t own a fire pit, there are often local parks that do! Or, ask around your friend group – maybe someone’s neighbor will let you borrow theirs for the evening)

Optional (but highly encouraged): s’more supplies!

  • roasting sticks (my favorite compact roasting sticks are on Amazon here)
  • marshmallows
  • chocolate
  • graham crackers (or, I like to get chocolate covered cookies!)
  • starbursts
  • Reeses

Yum! Enjoy!

6) Fall themed scavenger hunt

One of my favorite fall activities is to go on a huge scavenger hunt to find fall-related things. This can easily be turned into a huge competition between friends or as a double date.

Set a timer and agree on an end location to meet – then go crazy getting pictures of pumpkins, mummies, scarecrows, leaves, etc.!

7) Pumpkin carving

It’s always fun to carve pumpkins. Consider setting up a pumpkin carving contest or use the pumpkin fillings in a game of pumpkin dodgeball.

Here are some basic pumpkin carving tools on Amazon

If you’re not into pumpkin guts (like me), you might prefer to paint pumpkins! Invite your most (or least haha) artistic friends over and show off your creative sides!

8) Haunted house/Scary movie

What’s more fun than watching your friends freak out?!

Invite your friends to a haunted house! If you can’t find one nearby, consider setting up your own! Turn out the lights, drape blankets and sheets, and prepare places where you can jump out and scare them.

For a simpler scare, try watching a haunted movie! Maybe The Conjuring, Insidious, or The Ring. Eek.

9) Halloween party

You might decide to go ALL out and host an entire Halloween party!

Grab some yummy food, pic out that scary movie, and consider setting up a fear factor!

Here’s a quick and easy idea for a DIY fear factor challenge:

  • Grab some bowls, put towels over them. Put in a dark room
  • Fill each bowl with a random squishy food item. Ideas: sliced hot dogs, mashed up tomatoes, warm mac + cheese, oatmeal
  • Give everyone a paper towel and a piece of paper. They must take turns sticking their hands in the bowls, feeling the contents, and guessing what the bowls are filled with!
  • Make it extra haunted by labeling each bowl with something super nasty – the tomatoes are ‘cat guts’ and the hot dogs are ‘chopped tongue’. Ew!

10) Friendsgiving

Another stellar way to make the most of your fall is to host or coordinate friendsgiving.

Friendsgiving is just like thanksgiving, except with your friends instead of family (which is perfect because let’s be honest – sometimes your friends ARE your family)

Invite all of your friends over for a specific friendsgiving day. Have everyone bring a specific dish so that all of your food bases are covered.
