This post is all about 7 super easy, yummy, AND healthy snacks for couples!
As a busy couple, we are always on the search for easy, yummy, AND healthy snacks!
Newlywed couples with a million things to do don’t always have time to plan and prepare amazing snacks. The easier snacks are to make, the more likely we are to have them over and over again!
It also doesn’t hurt to find snacks that are yummy enough to crave as well as healthy enough to be filling!
Lucky for you, I’ve been gathering my favorite easy snacks. We have these ALL. THE. TIME. Some of them I have multiple times in one day. They are simply THAT good and THAT easy.
This post contains the 7 tried-and-true easy, healthy, and yummy snacks perfect for couples!
Easy Healthy Snacks
1) Peanut butter banana toast
All you need is some bread, peanut butter, and banana. Spread the peanut butter onto the toasted bread and then slice the banana on top.
This option makes an excellent snack because it takes just a few minutes! With this snack you get some fruit, some protein, and whole wheat if you used whole wheat for the bread.
While this tasty slice of bread makes a great snack, I also like to have this for breakfast or post workout sometimes. Yum!
2) Ham, cheese, & crackers
Grab some crackers – Ritz are our favorite! Grab some sliced cheese and sliced ham. Make some mini sandwiches with cracker, ham, cheese, and another cracker. Voila! Now you have a delicious ham and cheese cracker sandwich.
This little sandwich is perfect when you’re in the mood for something salty but you don’t want to finish off your stash of chips 😉 It comes with some dairy from the cheese and protein from the ham.
This snack can take a couple seconds while you grab each ingredient, but you can also add to it by arranging a whole charcuterie-board-type-dish. All you need to do is grab a platter and arrange everything on top. You can even throw in some grapes or cherry tomatoes if you’d like. Enjoy!
3) Berry granola
Oh man, this is another option that is perfect as a snack, but sometimes I make a bigger helping and have it for breakfast. Yuuuum.
All you need is some yogurt (I prefer vanilla), some granola, and some berries! This tastes awesome if you only have blueberries on hand (like I did in this picture) OR if you have tons of berries that go together! My favorite combo is to have the yogurt and granola with blueberries, strawberries, and raspberries.
4) Strawberries and cream
Okay, fair warning: some people do not think that any amount of whipped cream is good for you. While it doesn’t necessarily provide a lot of nutrition, I think any food is good in moderation!
This sweet snack is simple to make and we often have it for dessert. All you need to do is slice up some strawberries and top it with whipped cream!
This is probably my favorite snack on this list. It’s just SO good and makes me feel like summertime. Enjoy!
5) Veggies and hummus
We all know that plain vegetables are not the yummiest vegetables. The good news is, you can eat vegetables with yummy dips and sides!
My husband’s favorite vegetable dip is hummus. You can dip lots of vegetables in hummus – carrots, cucumber, peppers, cherry tomatoes, celery, etc.
I prefer ranch with my veggies or cheese sauce with broccoli. To make cheese sauce, just melt some cheese in a pot and stir it with some milk. Consider this your easy peasy way to enjoy vegetables!
6) Apples with peanut butter
Apples with peanut butter are my go-to post-workout snack! Peanut butter provides the protein you need for your muscles to recover, and a whole apples is quite filling in my opinion.
Apples are also the perfect snack for when you are heading out the door. Worst case scenario, you can just bite the apple and toss the core! If you have a minute before you go, you can slice up your apple, stick it in a baggie, and dip it in a peanut butter to go cup. Did you know they sell those?! Pure brilliance.
If you’ve never tried the creamy Jif to go cup (a favorite in our household), you’ve got to at least try their little 8-pack on Amazon linked here.
7) Fruit salad
Finally, one of our favorite ways to eat fruit is simply in a fruit salad. Our simplest fruit salad is made by slicing bananas, apples, and strawberries into a bowl. These fruits go together so well and the salad takes just 5 minutes to make. It’s perfect for a healthy snack OR as a side for any meal.
A more complicated salad is what we call ‘fruit salsa’. To make this, you’ll have to finely chop 10 strawberries, 3 kiwis, and 1 apple. When you mix them all up, you’ll get this delicious fruit salsa that pairs nicely with cinnamon chips. This is our go-to treat to bring to a party. Yum!
