HEALTH is different for everybody.
There are foods that fuel some and sicken others, workouts that are too hard for me but too easy for you, and a million varieties of good mental health.
I’m not here to tell you what food to eat and what workouts to do.
It’s up to YOU to figure out what works and what doesn’t.
What I can tell you is that there are some habits that can be beneficial to EVERYONE, so consider adding these to your daily routine to achieve a healthier life.
1) Think Positive About Yourself.
Your mind is SO powerful.
Have you ever heard of the placebo effect? It’s this scientific phenomenon where people convince themselves that fake treatments help them feel better, and their body responds by healing itself. Isn’t that crazy?!
This means that thoughts in your mind have powerful effects on the rest of your body.
Your mind is the birthplace of thoughts, assumptions, attitudes, and actions. If the mind is filled with negativity, it will likely spread to everything you think, say, and do.
So focus on positive thoughts. Dump the negative. Let the positive spread to every part of you.

2) Find Your Workout.
So often society wants us to workout for the wrong reasons: to fit in, to change our bodies, to subscribe to a program, to pay money. Well, quit it!
Workout with the right intentions, for energy + endorphins, not punishment, and workout to feel good, not look good.
Take time to discover the exercises that you enjoy, and then do them because you want to.
Additionally, try different ways to workout and decide what works best for you!
I, for one, do not love biking (yet haha). I get soooo sore and sweaty. But one day, I tried swimming, and I LOVED it.
At the time I was only swimming to complete a lazy ironman. I had never swam for laps in my life, and I’m sure I didn’t have phenomenal form or speed, but man it was incredible. However, I loved working up my heart rate in such a low-impact way. I loved finishing the workout feeling wet and tired but not sweaty. It was amazing.
Life will be happier if you have a healthy mindset when it comes to working out!
3) Invest in a Water Bottle.
Water is good for everybody! One way to drink more water is to get yourself a water bottle.
Once you get a water bottle, you’ll have access to a lot more water during the day and you’ll probably end up drinking more of it.
Pro tip – drink water in the mornings to start waking up your whole body!
4) Go Outside Every Day.
There are so many reasons to get outside each day.
Sunshine is good for you. Moving your body outdoors is good for you. Taking a break from screens is good for you.
Make an effort to get outside every day. Get some fresh air and spend time feeling thankful for the beautiful outdoors. Thank God for His lovely gift of nature.
5) Practice Self Reflection.
Self reflection can happen in a lot of forms. It might include reviewing the progress on a to-do list. Perhaps it involves keeping a journal. It may largely depend on goals, resolutions, and growth.

Self improvement is good for you. It’s important to dream big and have goals in life. That give you something to wake up for each morning. Make sure to track your goals and your progress.
It’s helpful to practice self-reflection when you feel unmotivated. Looking back on your progress may inspire you to work harder to move further! It may also give you a chance to feel gratitude towards the progress you’ve made.
Make an effort to regularly practice self-reflection.
6) Serve.
Service is good for SO many reasons, including:
- gives us purpose
- provides an opportunity to forget our woes
- builds friendships
- helps us feel happy
- is productive
- can lift others up
Find small ways to serve others. You’ll be surprised at how blessed your own life is when you dedicate time to the people around you!
With all that’s going on in the world, it’s important to take care of your health in various ways.
Consider which aspects of your own health could use a boost, and then boost them!
