This post is all about diaper bag options!
Somehow in just my first year of parenting, I have used tons of different diaper bags! In this post I’ll share with you my top 4 favorite bag options. Plus, I’ll explain exactly WHY I like them and WHAT you can use them for!
Parker Baby Co Diaper Bag
If you’re looking for one excellent multipurpose diaper bag, the Parker Baby Co bag is for you!
The Parker Baby Co backpack is my number 1 go-to diaper bag. The main reason I always reach for this bag is because of the wide bag opening and organized pocket system. My favorite pockets are 2 big insulated zip-up pockets on the sides of the bag that easily fit baby bottles. This means you could pack a bottle of warm water and add some formula to it later, maybe halfway during your hike or in the middle of church!
There are many other pockets that are big and functional, so it’s easy to really fill this bag up with a lot of stuff! We recently took this bag camping and were able to fit everything the baby needed in this bag. That includes plenty of diapers, wipes, formula, bottles, snacks, bibs, a hat, mittens, socks, changes of clothes, pajamas, a sleep sack, extra layers, binkies, books, and more! I’m telling you, this bag can really pack it in.
Besides being extremely functional, I love this bag because it’s pretty! The neutral colors and backpack-style fit look and feel really nice, even for dad to wear.
Even though it’s pretty, this bag is not *too* fancy, so there’s no need to worry about getting it dirty. That means you can take it on hikes or camping. Dirt and food come off easily with a quick wipe.
Finally, the bag is big without being too bulky. It holds it’s shape no matter how packed it is. The opening is very wide and allows you to see everything inside. Plus, the backpack can even zip down the front to create a little makeshift diaper changing mat.

Omanmoli Diaper Bag
If you want hot mama vibes on a budget, the Omanmali diaper bag is for you!
This leather diaper bag is basically my ‘guilty pleasure’ baby accessory. It’s pretty, smooth, sleek, and it smells amazing.
The outside pockets are super convenient for quick access to toys or car keys. The pockets snap closed with magnetic buttons, which seems easier than zippers. This bag also has excellent pocket options within the bag so you can easily keep everything organized/easy to find!
This bag also has 4 insulated pockets, which is super nice. However, it would be hard to use them all because the pockets are kind of small and get tight pretty fast. You can still easily fit 2 bottles, but I think you’d have to fill the other insulated pockets with snacks or more flat things.
The main issue with this bag is that it’s so pretty, you might be afraid to get it dirty (like me). It also gets kind of slouchy, which can make it hard to find things within the bag. Luckily, you can unbutton the opening to get a better view of what’s inside.
The best part of this diaper bag is that although it’s a trendy style, it comes at an affordable price. Some other leather bags that look similar to this one can be hundreds of dollars! This one is adorable AND affordable – my favorite combination.

Petunia Picklebottom Diaper Bag
If you plan to travel with your baby, a Petunia Picklebottom diaper bag might be your perfect option.
Although this diaper bag has an excellent large main pocket and multiple side pockets, the main show-stopper on this bag is the thickly padded changing mat. This mat will make it comfortable to change your baby’s diaper ANYWHERE – a sandy beach, the hard tile, or even on some prickly dead grass. The mat folds and zips up perfectly into the side of the bag. The majority of the mat is attached with velcro, which means that if there’s ever a diaper changing spill, you can easily detach the mat for a wash in the laundry machine.
I also love that this diaper bag has multiple straps. It can function as a side bag or a backpack. It’s also very pretty, with the cream cover and black base. Need a little more color in your life? This brand actually sells diaper bags in a lot of fun fabrics too, including Disney character prints!
The thing I did not like about this diaper bag is that the thick padded mat makes it super bulky. Also, I got this bag second hand, and when I found the bag online I was absolutely shocked at the price – almost $200. Now, if you want to invest in a diaper bag that maybe you’ll use for multiple kids and change diapers in all sorts of environments, the price tag might be worth it! But in my humble opinion, other bags at a lower price get the job done just as well.
Pro tip: if you really want a high-quality diaper bag but can’t justify the price, check your local Facebook Marketplace! There are a ton of affordable second hand diaper bag options on there, even from gorgeous designer brands.

Mini backpack
Lastly, one of my go-to diaper bags is just this simple mini backpack that I picked up in Walmart. For me, it’s the absolute perfect size for a day trip that is 3 hours or less, which happen frequently. If you’re going to church, flying on an airplane, or just visiting the library, you might not want to haul around an actual-sized diaper bag. They can be kind of bulky and overwhelming, and you probably don’t need everything inside them!
That’s why I just love a little mini backpack. My packing list for this bag typically includes: 1 bottle, 1 formula dispenser, 3 diapers, 1 half bag of wipes, 1 binky, 1 clean onesie, and 1 toy. Usually I have extra space to throw in a pair of socks or a baggie of snacks, too, depending on what I’m packing for.
If you like to pack light or you’re feeling annoyed at your oversized diaper bag for every small day trip, try a mini backpack instead! Mine is from Walmart, linked here.
Best of luck as you pick out your dream diaper bag!
