This post is all about flower picture poses you can try!
My favorite part about spring is the beautiful flowers that begin to bloom! I thought it would be so pretty to share my love for these flowers with some pretty Instagram pictures. So I went and bought a bouquet which got me thinking… how many different pictures can you get with one bouquet of flowers?!
I’m here to tell you that you can EASILY get 10+ flower pictures with ONE bouquet of flowers… and here are some ideas to get you started!
*btw, all of these pictures are taken INDOORS or on a balcony. I wanted to take some outside but it ended up raining that day! So if you are hoping to stay indoors, good news, you can still use all of these! However, there are easy ways to take these picture ideas outside, which I think would be so lovely! If you end up using any of these outside, please send them to me! I’d love to see! xo
Flower Picture Poses
I was able to get all of these pictures in ONE day with ONE bouquet… but I specifically took them in order so that the bouquet and flowers stayed fresh and springy for as long as possible. You’ll see towards the end a picture where I was waving and throwing the flowers around, which would have made the bouquet look pretty wilted in some of my other picture ideas! So in case you are also batching 10 flower pictures, I’ll walk you through the exact order I took these pictures in!
This pretty picture came first since it required the bouquet to look like, well, and actual bouquet! Don’t they look just so fresh and happy on my nightstand?
To recreate this picture, I suggest you find a little bright spot in your home that maybe doesn’t get much attention because it’s small or even a bit cramped. Get settled into your cozy spot and include your bouquet on a table or stool behind you. Voila!
This picture came next because it required another fresh-bouquet style of flowers! All you have to do is prop up a kid, dog, beloved product, or even yourself by a vase on the floor and snap some shots.
Another cute picture ideas is to create a flatlay with the flowers next to something else. Use a simple background and take the picture from above. To change up the bouquet a bit, you can tie a ribbon around the flowers or stick them in a paper bag.
I love that this picture turned out a little moody! Bright in the front and dark in the back.
To recreate this picture, pull up a chair near a bright open window! This will allow light to shine on the subject and shadows to fill the background.
Okay this one turned out to be one of my favorites! I love that the light background and clothes allowed the flowers to truly pop! I also tried to include movement in this picture, so I picked up a flower to smell it an let the baby play with the rest.
To recreate this picture, find a solid background that allows your flowers to truly pop. Bonus points if you can find an outfit to blend in with the background!
Get dressed up, grab your flowers, and take a picture!
It’s important especially when you’re inside to get the brightest picture by looking at the window. You can see in this picture how looking at the window really lit up my face, as well as the flowers and baby’s face. This draws attention to the focal points of the picture!
Here’s the one picture we got that was kind of outside! Again, it was raining so I just stepped out onto the balcony for a picture!
At this point I started taking apart the bouquet. Get creative by sticking some of the flowers in your clothes – maybe sticking out of a pocket or even in your hair. Then, make sure to take a picture at an angle that shows off those flowers!
I saw a lot of flower picture ideas that involved a mirror, so I had to try it myself! I think the hardest part was getting the camera angle right. It had to capture the mirror but not show up in the mirror, if you know what I mean.
To recreate this idea, grab your flowers individually and place them around a mirror that you take a picture in front of! It might be easier to lay the mirror down on the ground so that the flowers can lay all around it. Get creative!
I love this picture and think it would be so awesome for showing off some cute shoes. All you have to do is lay your flowers all over the floor with your other main subject – a kid, pet, or product. Then, sit down and raise your camera above your head to get a nice flatlay shot!
I love this picture because it feels like the perfect summery picnic vibes! I originally planned to take this picture outside but the weather got in the way, boo!
To capture a picture like this, set up a blanket, a baby/pet, and some other picnic details like a book or picnic food. Then, take any flower pieces that have fallen off of your bouquet or rip off some flower petals and sprinkle them onto your picnic blanket spread.
I thought this picture turned out so creative/cute and it was surprisingly easy to do!
To recreate, all you need is some basic scotch tape to hang your flowers on the wall. This would make a beautiful backdrop for parties as well! Can’t you see this as a beautiful bachelorette party photo spot?!
Finally, I wanted to include a picture with a lot of movement. I used a bluetooth remote to take a bunch of pictures while I waved the bouquet of flowers in front of the camera. If you don’t have a remote, you can set your camera on a timer or burst mode to get a lot of pictures while you move around.
BONUS
Here are a few more flower picture ideas to try! The rest of these pictures are great ideas that I think I could execute better if I had more time! I wanted to include them in case you think of a better way to capture the idea! If you do, let me know how you did it!
Mirrors can be tricky to work with, and I think I would have liked this picture better if I like my apartment better. 😉 If you have a really pretty area you are working with, try more mirror pictures to capture more of the beautiful environment!
I think this picture idea would look better if I had more light in the area. We sat underneath a window so it got all dark and shadowy, which just doesn’t look super great in pictures.
Here’s another picture where I like the idea but not the location! The orange wood and purple carpet in my apartment is just not that cute in my opinion! I think if we got this picture outside it would be so much prettier!
Lol I had to include this one with the crazy baby hair! This is one where I think if the angle was a bit different it could turn out much better. However, I’m not sure exactly what to do differently. Maybe you’ll be able to set this up and capture the idea better!
I hope you loved this post all about flower picture poses!
