When you’re working, going to college, and/or starting a family, you and your boo might not have time to put together an elaborate Halloween costume.
Never fear! There are plenty of costume options that are quick, easy, and SO cheap. In fact, some of these costumes are already in your closet!

Last Minute Halloween Costumes

Chances are that you already have the pieces for these costumes in your very closet!
1) Harry Potter characters
All you really need for this one is a stick, but you can really seal the look by wearing prep-school-type clothes such as collared shirts, a pleated skirt and/or slacks, and sneakers. Grab a striped scarf, some glasses, and/or draw a lightning bolt on your foreheads. You can even look up characters that have your same hair color and dress more like them.
2) Nacho Libre
Grab a blue sweater and cut off the sleeves. Wrap some black fabric to warp around your head. Viola! You guys can be Nacho Libre and the nun.
3) Sports winners
If you’ve ever played any kind of sport with a specific set of clothes, you’ve got a Halloween costume! Grab your ski gear, cheerleader uniform, basketball jersey, or tennis outfit. If you have a medal, you can wear that and call yourself and Olympic medalist!
4) Pirates
All you need for a pirate costume is a flowy shirt, dark pants, and a scarf wrapped around your head. You can add to the look with colorful jewelry, dark boots, and a pirate hat.
5) Star Wars Characters
Star Wars characters come in many shapes and sizes, but you can easily put together a Jedi look by wrapping cloth around your shoulders and securing it with a belt. If you have a black hoodie and a ski mask, you can create a Sith. Grab some lightsabers or pool noodles with duct tape and you’ve got some sweet star wars characters!
6) Burglars
Basically all you need for a burglar costume is a black and white striped shirt! You can seal the deal with a mask (ski mask if you have one) and money bag.
7) Mimes
Take the burglar costume one step further by painting your faces white to be mimes! Add to the costumes with berets, red neck scarves, and/or white gloves.

For those of us with a crafty spirit, these costumes are easy to put together with a few simple supplies!
8) Salt and Pepper Shaker
You need 2 people for this one, so it’s a perfect couples or best friends costume. One person wears a white shirt, the other has a black shirt. Cut out a black ‘S’ and a white ‘P’ and tape them to your shirts. Easy peasy!
9) Cards
This one is perfect for a group of friends! Everybody wears white and cuts out black or red card numbers/letters. Tape them on your shirt and you’re good to go!
10) Pac man game
You can get a little crazy with the paper and design a Pac man game, complete with food, ghosts, walls, and of course Pac man!
11) Cows
We put together a last-minute cow costume every time Chik-fil-a day rolls around! All you need is black and white clothes and some sort of hat or headband. Cut out cow spots and ears to turn yourselves into cows!
12) Cupcake
Put on a white top and tan bottoms (maybe a skirt). Cut out different colors of sprinkles and tape them on. Add a cherry on top for effect!
13) Pumpkin
Grab an orange shirt and either a sharpie or some black duct tape. Make a Jack-o-lantern shape on your shirt and BAM! You’re a pumpkin!
14) Dominoes
Another white shirt option is to decorate yourself with dots to represent dominoes. Easy peasy!
15) Wreck it Ralph
If you have some extra candy on hand, you can easily put together a costume from Wreck-it-Ralph! Tie licorice together for Ralph’s medal. Glue candy to bobby pins and stick them in her hair for Venelope!
16) Cactus
Grab a green shirt and stick white ‘spikes’ on it. You could use fuzzy wire, paper, or straws. Put your arms at a right angle and you’re a cactus!
17) Farmer OR scarecrow
Grab a flannel and some wide-brim hats to become farmers! Or, add some face paint and straw to make yourself a scarecrow.
18) Pigs in a blanket

19) Those random things in your closet!
You might search through you closet and realize that you have an excellent prop for a Halloween costume. You might have a sombrero, a wig, or a shark onesie! Sometimes the best last minute costumes are made with the random objects in your closet.
