This post is all about planning a successful bachelorette party!
When my best friend got engaged, I immediately started planning a bachelorette party. I wanted it to be fun, memorable, and unique to her taste!
Turns out, there is A LOT that goes into bachelorette parties! We’re talking invites, themes, games, food, etc.
Luckily, with some thoughtful planning and delicious treats, the party turned out to be a success!
This post has a checklist of everything you’ll want to remember when you plan your bestie’s bachelorette party!
Bachelorette Party Checklist
1) Schedule with bride
The first thing you have to do when planning the bachelorette party is picking a time and place with your bride!
Find a date where the bride is completely free, not too stressed from wedding planning, and able to sleep in the next day.
Find a place that is fun, has room for your needs, and is convenient for everyone to get to!
Do this step before anything else – you don’t want to plan an entire party that the bride can’t come to!
2) Pick a theme
There are SO many themes you can use for a bachelorette party! Here are some ideas:
Feeling a girl’s day? Try…
- Spa night
- Brunch
- Shopping spree
- Night on the town
Maybe you’re looking to get crazy before she gets hitched…
- Skydiving/Bunjee jumping
- Night in Vegas
- Axe throwing
- Paint gun fight
Or, get sentimental and plan a party unique to the bride…
- Celebrate her favorite holiday/season
- Her favorite movie
- Her favorite color
- Just her style in general: classy, boho, minimalist, etc.
3) Guest list/send invites
Next, make the guest list and send invites!
The bride might give you a list of who to invite; if not, make a list and double check with her before you invite them.
Get your guests excited by summarizing the party in your invite! If you’re going on a shopping spree, have everyone bring wallets. If you’re hosting a holiday party, ask everyone to dress up with the theme.
4) Coordinate with groom
It might be super cute to involve the groom in the bachelorette festivities.
Maybe you want him to come to the end of the party and surprise his bride.
You might want him to ask a questionnaire about the bride that you can give to her at the party.
Either way, make sure to coordinate with him in advance so that he doesn’t get booked up!
4) Find decor
Next, you’ve got to find decor to bring the theme to life. Start by ‘house-shopping’ to see what you already have on hand!
Going for a Christmas theme? Pull out your Christmas decor!
Throwing a color party? Search your house for everything that matches!
Boho brunch? Gather all of your pillows and blankets to start.
Once you’ve gathered stuff from your house, you can find tons of decor options at local thrift stores, party stores, or online.
5) Plan games
Next, pick out some games to play!
You might make up a questionnaire about the bride to see who knows her best, play bra pong, learn to pole dance, or grab some board games.
The options are endless here, so have fun with it!
6) Pick/make treats
The best parties have the best treats!
Some fun bachelorette treats:
- Crepe bar
- Finger sandwiches
- Cookies
- Fruit
- Charcuterie board
- Ice cream bar
- Martinellis
7) Set up
Give yourself plenty of time to set up for the party.
You might want to start setting up the day before. This way, if a problem arises or you run out of time, you won’t get stressed out!
You can even ask some girlfriends to come over early and help you get everything in place.
9) DIY photo wall
It is SO easy and SO fun to make a photo wall.
Your guests can grab pics at the wall and remember the bridal party for forever!
Here are a few ideas for your DIY photo wall:
- streamers
- garland
- balloon arch
- plain wall + flowers
- glitter circle garland
- a pretty tapestry
- ‘bride’ balloons
- fairy lights
